Dr. Michael Moats

Dr. Michael Moats is an Associate Professor of Metallurgical Engineering affiliated with the Materials Research Center at the Missouri University of Science and Technology (formerly University of Missouri-Rolla). Dr. Moats holds five patents and has authored or co-authored 80+ paper, two books and two book chapters related to metallurgical and chemical processes. He serves on the SME Mineral Processing Division Executive Committee. Prof. Moats is the coordinator for the Copper Refinery Group, an industrial consortium of eight North and South American copper refineries and the project leader for AMIRA’s P705C Improving Base Metal Electrowinning project. He has taught mineral and metallurgical processing courses for ten years in academia.
